Tips to Improve
- Use a mouse on a desk rather than a trackpad or touchscreen for the most consistent results; trackpads add travel time that has nothing to do with aim.
- Smooth, confident flicks beat fast, nervous ones. A steady 95 percent hit rate scores higher than a frantic 60 percent.
- Warm up with a couple of untimed runs before judging your aim; the first run of a session is always slower.
- Keep your grip light and your wrist relaxed. Tension makes the cursor overshoot the target more often.
- Adjust the sensitivity to a setting where the cursor lands where you expect it. A sensitivity you fight will beat you more than any lack of skill.
- When a target appears, look at it directly rather than tracking from the previous position. Directing your eyes to the target lets your hand follow.
- Practice the flick, not the click. Moving the cursor to the target is where most of the time and error live, so rehearse the motion as a single smooth move.
